SproutBuilder
If you’ve visited my website in the past couple of days, you may have noticed that my homepage has changed from this to this. I mean, what do you think? Which one is better? The newer updated homepage is more aesthetically pleasing than the original homepage. It’s not fun to be hit in the head with a massive amount of pictures, links, and content. I believe that the homepage should be a sort of buffer or a splash screen that introduces the site before giving the users the ability to continue. In that way, a user has the ability to decline if that’s not what they’re interested in, or to enter with ease if they know what they’re looking for. I’m pretty satisfied with my new homepage, since it’s basically a summary of my website. Anyway, for those who want to know, I used a new webpage I found online called SproutBuilder, which makes building flash-based widgets or web pages easy and painless. Sproutbuilder allows for easy customization and allows you to import almost anything onto your web-page or widget, with unlimited pages. It’s an excellent alternative to other flash programs. The editing is very intuitive. Each element can be customized and linked in various ways. I highly recommend SproutBuilder if you just want a widget for your blog, facebook, or website or if you want to make a mini-site or a page in your website flash based, which will certainly catch everyone’s attention. My verdict? Excellent and I hope to see some more improvements, such as HTML embedding, which would let us embed our own videos and other widgets into it. It’s worth taking a look at though!
