Internet in Space? It’s About Time

NASA and Vint Cerf, the VP of Google have teamed up to bring the Internet to Space. For now, astronauts out in space are using antiquated equipment and radios to communicate. Within the next few years, this technology will allow Internet to travel millions of miles. There has been a successful test and is the first steps toward the Internet in space. The software is called Disruption Tolerant Networking (DTN). Using this software, NASA was able to transmit a couple of images to and from a science spacecraft 20 million miles from Earth. That is a long way to go. We’ll see what happens!
