Camera Tossing
Recently discussed on an episode of Tekzilla is the art of Camera Tossing. It has been described as reckless, insane, and stupid, but in reality it gets you great results. So what is camera tossing? It’s exactly what it sounds like. You set your camera on long exposure or on a delay, press the shutter, and then wait for exactly the right time and throw your camera right before it goes off. Then, you either catch your camera or have it land on a soft surface. More often than not, your results are not too astonishing, but if you get it just right or have just the right thing to point your camera at, then you can achieve spectacular results. There are many ways of tossing the camera and many users have achieved stunning and abstract pieces just by throwing their camera. It is an art and you should experiment, but be careful. All over the internet there are people using their SLRs, cell phones, their iphones, and regular digital cameras. I for one have tossed my regular camera around and bit and have found that it does in fact yield incredible images. Here are some images I got. The one on top is the image that I snapped and the one below it is the one that I altered, just by changing the color. You must admit it’s pretty cool. So why not have at it? Take a risk and have fun!
