PicLens for Firefox 3.0rc1
For those of you who have already experienced PicLens when it was only compatable with previous version of Firefox, rejoice! The PicLens extension is now available for Firefox 3.0rc1, which is amazing. I’ve been waiting a long time for my add-ons to be compatable with Firefox 3 and now most of them are. I have my mouse gestures, foxmarks, and now PicLens. For those of you who don’t know about PicLens, it is definitely worth checking out and will revolutionize the way that you search for media content. Not only does it make your life much easier, it is visual and feels great. Much like the previously mentioned Viewzi, it is very visual. PicLens allows the user to search for picture files and youtube videos in a 3D visual environment. It is able to search through Google, SmugMug, Photobucket, Youtube, Yahoo, Flickr!, and deviantART. Just by entering a search term, you get a panel of images, which you can scroll through in 3D and click on to zoom in. The images are loaded as you scroll through, so you get nothing but an uninterrupted flow of images, something that Google currently does not do. It is worth checking out! That’s my verdict!
