2009’s Obligatory Holiday Post

It’s the season to be jolly right? I guess so. It’s the holidays! Gifts, presents, caroling, helping others, Santa, lights, and trees, friends and family! That’s the spirit. I don’t think that 2009 is a year I’ll easily forget with the whole economic recession and the like. However, let’s not smother ourselves and stay in a depressed state for the holidays. Let’s get out there, have some good food, get fat and celebrate the coming of the new year. I’m crossing my fingers as I count down the last few days, hours, minutes, then seconds to the new year. 2010 is a new year. With new years come new beginnings, new adventures, and unpredictable events. I pray to God that things will work out eventually. Why is peace on Earth and uniting to solve the problems at hand so hard? Why is global climate change such a hard concept to grasp? What about global poverty, sickness, and hunger? Can we solve these problems in 2010? Or are we, as a human race just counting down until 2012? Waiting for the world to end…Is that how Homo sapiens sapiens will go out? Will we be written into alien history devices as the race that could not solve problems and counted down to the destruction of the Earth?

Wow, this is a pretty grim last post. As the last few days of the year tick down, it’s time to get sentimental, but look forward. Yes, learn from the mistakes, events and successes we’ve had in 2009, but move on. Pandora’s box was opened for a reason. Hope was at the bottom. Don’t close the box now. Let’s keep going and see what 2010 has to hold for us. I look forward to next year, when I do my obligatory 2010 post to have something positive to talk about. Either way, my next post will be dedicated to memorable events of 2009, for myself, our nation, and the world. Take care folks. Happy holidays and I’m wishing you a great New Years. Best wishes for 2010!
