Green Cleaning
Ready to start cleaning with green! I’m pretty sure you all know that chlorine does some pretty bad things to your body. It’s found in a lot of cleaners. When chlorine enters the body, it reacts with water to make acids, which damages your body. Didn’t know that acid eats away your cells and DNA? It does indeed. Clean in a way that’s good for the environment and yourself! Let’s take a look at a couple of green cleaning products!
1) Citrasolv: According to their website, they’ve been hard at work for 20 years trying to save the planet by offering natural cleaners. I love their enthusiasm and their top-notch products. Why sacrifice performance when switching over to environmentally-friendly cleaners? What do they offer? All-purpose cleaners, dishwashing supplies, laundry, window and glass cleaners, wood and furniture, spot removing, drains and pipes, castile soaps, and air fresheners. I’m applauding them right now! Don’t forget to check them out.
2) Seventh Generation: A pretty well known brand. I personally buy their laundry products all the time. It works great and I’m helping the environment. Best of all, it’s pretty cheap too, so it’s affordable for all. Visit their blog, keep up with their news and product promotions. They have some pretty awesome coupons and TONS (I mean TONS) of products, with broad categories like baby, laundry, free and clear, household cleaners, household paper and supplies, feminine care, and dishwashing. Can’t go wrong here!
3) Mrs Meyers: “Always earth friendly and cruelty free too” as advertised on their website. A great way to clean your house! Go buy some! It’ll last a lifetime because they are sold in concentrated formulas. All you have to do is grab a spray bottle, fill it up with water and add a little bit of this miracle cleaning agent and on you go! Sparkly goodness. Get a load of all their products.
4) Green Works: Clorox is catching on. Most of the big companies are. However, you should be aware of the phenomenon known as “greenwashing”. We’ll get more into that later. Anyway, they have a pretty big selection of natural cleaners (at least 95%) and cleans great. I personally use a lot of their cleaners in the kitchen. Here is what they have in their product line: All-purpose cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, multi-surface cleaner, natural bathroom cleaner, glass and surface cleaner, dishwashing liquid, and cleaning wipes. I’m expecting them to come up with more stuff, but it’ll happen with time.
5) method: All the ingredients are 100% natural, meaning they are exactly that…natural or derived from natural processes. It’s pretty awesome and they have a HUGE. I mean HUGE product line. They have aroma sprays, all purpose cleaners, specialty cleaners, baby + kids, bathroom cleaners, dish, natural moisturizing body care, laundry, and floor care, with a grand total of 47 products. Enjoy!
6) Beauty Engineered Forever: Also known as B_E_E, they make green products and encourage people to use them. To them, green products don’t have to sacrifice performance or aesthetics. According to their site, everything they do “is designed for pleasure, function, and the environment.” I love it, although I have never seen it in stores. Just take a look at their products and you’ll be impressed. For example, their laundry powder is called “I’ll do your dirty work” and their dishwashing liquid is called “I’ll give you some sparkle”. Cool!
7) Biokleen: This company was founded in 1989 (that’s when I was born!) Biokleen strives to produce cleaning products that are effective, non-toxic, and environmentally safe. They offer professional size jugs with MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets). Don’t worry, they also offer household cleaners: laundry, kitchen, general, and soy blend cleaners. That was just the categories. They have tons of products.
8 ) PureGreen24: According to their site, PureGreen’s manufacturing produces zero waste and byproducts and their active ingredient (SDC) consists of silver ions and citric acid. It has been registered with the EPA for use on sports equipment and children’s toys, without having to be wiped off. So don’t forget to buy some of their disinfectant and deodorizer!
9) optionsforlife: Just get a load of these! It’s pretty awesome. Go ahead and buy the sets! Don’t be afraid. They’ve been rated and tested by tons of environmental sites.
There you all go! I’m just showcasing a couple of options that you have as consumers so you can protect your health and your families health while saving the planet. Remember, consumers have power! Below are two sites where you can find out more information about green cleaners. Greenhome is a great green and environmentally conscious shopping site. Check them out!
