It’s Time For Video: What to Watch
We’ve already gone through a whole bunch of ways you can watch Internet videos online, but what are you supposed to watch? Here are a couple of recommendations for some TV shows that you might enjoy. I’ll give you the title, the IMDB link, and a brief summary. The rest is up to you. Decide if you like it or not. Hold on to your horses, it’s a pretty long post. Sidereel has a post with a list of Summer’s 10 Biggest TV Disappointments. That’s just one person’s opinion. Here are my list of TV shows that I’ve been watching. Let me start with a list of shows that I’ve already finished watching. Enjoy!
1) Stargate SG-1: A military team is formed to explore a series of devices called Stargates. Along the way, they bump into a lot of alien races and technology. Stargate SG-1 is a culmination of their travels and experiences. Excellent Sci-Fi series.
2) Stargate Atlantis: You can think of this series as a continuation of Stargate SG-1. A team is sent when the lost city of Atlantis is discovered and they establish a base of operations in the Pegasus galaxy. Join them in their adventures.

3) Dark Angel: A group of genetically enhanced children break free from a lab. One of the superhuman prototypes named Max finds shelter in underground life, avoiding agents that want to capture her. Max tries to find others of her kind and find the secrets of her past.

4) Andromeda: Captain Hunt, the captain of the starship Andromeda is trapped in the gravitational field of a black hole for 300 years. 300 years later, he is pulled out, but everything has changed. The Systems Commonwealth that he used to serve has fallen. It’s up to him to put it all back together. These are his adventures.

5) Firefly: Captain Malcom Reynolds is a former war hero who is the captain of the transport ship Serenity. He once was a decorated officer who fought the war on the side of the Independance. He tries to stay out of the Alliance’s way, and carry on legal and illegal jobs to survive.
6) Battlestar Galactica: After losing a war against the Cyclon robots that were built by humans, the Battlestar Galactica and it’s aging rag-tag fleet of civilian ships head toward the fabled 13 colony in search of other humans. Very exciting series with political turmoil, emotional connection, relationships, crushed morale, and the Cylon threat.

7) X-files: A pretty long-living series about two FBI agents, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully investigate strange and unexplained events. With each passing episode, their relationship is taken to a new level. Follow them as they work undercover and expose those inside the USA that would violate people’s rights, alien creatures, and monsters.
8 ) Heroes: One of the most popular shows on NBC. This thought-provoking series is full of twists. Ordinary people wake up and discover that they have extraordinary powers. They must band together, figure out who is villain and who isn’t and use their powers to stave the end of the world.

9) Chuck: A computer geek who works at the Buymore inadvertently downloads all of the government secrets into this brain when his former college friend turned CIA sends him an email. Now he is partnered with Sarah Walker and John Casey in order to solve matters of national security while keeping his cover.

10) Numb3rs: Charlie Epps is a mathematician working with the FBI using equations to help solve crimes. His brother, Don Eppes takes help from Charlie in order to investigate baffling crimes.

11) Pushing Daisies: Even as a little boy, Ned has known that he had the power to bring dead people back to life. However, he can only do so for one minute, or else something else has to die. He partners with Emerson Cod to solve various murders.

12) Bionic Woman: Jamie Sommers is a struggling bartender and surrogate mother to her teenage sister. After a devastating accident, her only chance to survive is through a top-secret technology. Now she’s a technological wonder with amazing abilities. She must learn to use them and repay her debt to those who saved her life.

13) Bones: Inspired by the real life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs, Dr. Temperance Brennan works at the Jeffersonian Institution and writes novels on the side. She has a miraculous ability to read all sorts of clues left by human remains. The FBI calls on her to assist with murder investigations when the remains are badly decomposed, burned, destroyed, or to help identify the remains.

14) Eureka: For years, the US government has been secretly relocating the world’s geniuses and their families to the Pacific Northwest town of Eureka, where daily life consists of the latest and coolest technology. US Marshall Jack Carter wrecks his car and soon becomes the sheriff of Eureka. Now he tries to restore order and solve the mysteries in the eccentric town.
15) Kyle XY: A 16 year old boy with the mind of a genius is found wandering the streets with no memory of his childhood, who he is, or where he is from. He meets Nicole Trager, a psychologist, who finds out that he has amazing abilities. Soon he starts remembering his past and will do anything to discover the secrets he has locked away.

16) Star Trek Enterprise: Star Trek Enterprise takes place during the mid-22nd century. Under the command of Jonathan Archer, the crew of the first warp 5 starship begins to explore other galaxies. As their mission progresses, they begin to discover alien species. These are their explorations.

17) Star Trek Voyager: While chasing a Maquis ship in the badlands, the USS Voyager and the Maquis ship are pulled into a vortex, which sends them to the Delta quadrant. After the device that transported them there was destroyed, the Voyager crew and the crew of the Maquis ship merge and must fight their way back to the Alpha quadrant, which is many years away.

18) John Doe: No one knows the name of the man who fell from the sky, naked. He is discovered to have a serious case of amnesia and doesn’t remember his past or his real name, but he has nearly all factual knowledge stored in his head. He teams up with various people to solve mysteries and to solve the biggest mystery of all: who he is.

19) Dresden Files: Ever since he was a boy, Harry Dresden knew that monsters were real and he could make things happen by just willing them. As he grew up, he learned about his magical heritage. His uncle would stop at nothing to get his magical powers. All grown up, Harry is the only private investigator and wizard in Chicago. He uses magic to solve cases and he teams up with the police to solve certain cases.

20) Relic Hunter: Sydney Fox and Nigel Bailey are on the hunt for lost treasure. They are both historians teaching at a university. They get calls from various individuals looking for lost treasure, relics, and mythical treasures.

21) Future Weapons: Former Navy SEAL Richard Machowicz seeks out the latest, smartest, and most terrifying technology of the 21st century battlefield and brings them to your screen.
22) Mythbusters: Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage are the hosts on Mythbusters. They come up with myths and state their opinions on the matter. Then they test them using scientific methods. The myth can be Busted, Confirmed, or Plausible. Each week, a couple of different myths from years ago to the present are put to the test and there are also fan submitted myths. You sure don’t want to miss this show!
23) Hell’s Kitchen: World renowned Chef Gordon Ramsay puts 12 aspiring young chefs to the test. Ramsay puts them through rigorous and devastating challenges at his restaurant in Hollywood, “Hell’s Kitchen”, to determine which one of them will win the restaurant of their dreams.

24) Kitchen Nightmares: Chef Gordon Ramsay from Hell’s Kitchen hits the road with his sharp temper and helps turn around restaurants in crisis, exposing the stress that comes with running a successful restaurant. First he sits in and watches the cooks, waiters, and tastes the food. Then he identifies the problem and inspects the cleanliness of the place. After a makeover, where he changes the menu and the decor, he lets them take the show and run with it.

25) Total Recall 2070: In the year 2070, detective David Hume, who works for the police and his high tech bionic partner Ian Farve try to track down a group of malfunctioning androids that ties in with corruption and murder, all pointing to a company called Recall, based on the planet Mars.

26) Angel: As a vampire with a conscience from the Buffy The Vampire Slayer series comes Angel, who leaves the town of Sunnydale in California to find a place in Los Angeles, where he tries to save souls, fight evil, and in the process redeem himself and save his own soul.

27) Babylon 5: Babylon 5 is a sci-fi series, one of the most popular and widely watched, which deals with politics, diplomacy, evil beings, and conflict about the vessel known as Babylon 5, which is a diplomatic space station. Time travel, physics, and alien life-forms in each episode.

28) 30 Days: Morgan Spurlock’s ingenious TV show. He presents a diverse group of people, each given the opportunity to live life as a drastically different person for 30 days and see if their views can be changed and see if they can appreciate life in a different light.

29) Regenesis TV: ReGenesis is a show about an organization called NorBAC, the North American Biotechnology Advisory Committee, which is headed by Dr. David Sandstrom and Director Caroline Morrison. They deal with bio-terrorist attacks, disease outbreaks, and mass killers.

30) Lie To Me: Dr. Cal Lightman heads the Lightman Group, which is dedicated to uncovering the deepest secrets behind human interaction. As the foremost expert on deception, Dr. Lightman and his team can tell whether a human is being truthful or not and can usually find the truth, even when there are complications.
31) Knight Rider: In the remake of the original 80’s series, Michael Knight and Knight Industries team up with the government in order to thwart evil. In this modern take, KITT is a brand new car with added features. With Michael Knight behind the wheel, the duo race throughout the country to fight the bad guys.

32) Fringe: This new drama blurs the lines between science and science fiction. FBI special Agent Dunham works with Dr. Walter Bishop, who is the equivalent of our generation’s Einstein. The group discovers that there are many events which are only pieces of a larger truth and phenomena.

33) DollHouse: From Joss Whedon comes a new series. Echo, played by Eliza Dushku is an “Active”, a member of an organization called the Dollhouse. As an active, she has her memories and personalities wiped clean so that they may be imprinted with other personas for various missions. Each episode brings a new adventure.

34) Life: After being put in jail for a crime that he did not commit, he gets a second change after being released. While solving all kinds of cases with his partner, Detective Crews tries to piece together the story behind him being put into jail.
35) Life on Mars: After being struck by a car in the present day, Detective Sam Tyler finds himself sent back in time to the 1970’s. Unable to find his way back to his current time, he works for the department in the 1970’s, all the while trying to find his way back home.

36) Sanctuary: Dr. Helen Magnus is the founder of a “Sanctuary”, heavily guarded, with a mission to collect, preserve, and protect a population of strange beings that hide among humans. They are called on cases and solve problems dealing with those that have special abilites.

37) My Own Worst Enemy: Two men who are complete polar opposites share the same body, life, and family. This show will give you laughs. What happens when a man who is programmed with two identities breaks? Chaos ensues.

38) Burn Notice: A former spy gets fired, or rather “burned” and must rely on his Special Ops training to stay alive. While he tries to figure out who burned him and get his old life back, he struggles to stay afloat with family and friends.

39) My Bare Lady: For a couple of adult film stars (pornstars), their lives are about to be enriched. Follow them as, in the first season, they try to prove that they can act, and in the second season, work at becoming successful businesswomen.

40) Monk: A detective with an obsessive-compulsive disorder helps the police crack cases with the help of an assistant who keeps him in check and the staff at the police department.

41) Crusoe: Based on the novel by Daniel Defoe, this series is the tale of Robinson Crusoe. Crusoe leaves to embark on an adventure, but ends up shipwrecked on an island for 28 years. He makes friends with Friday and together, using their ingenuity to defeat enemies.

42) 24: Jack Bauer is a highly trained and skilled operative who helps save the United States. The entire season takes place in one day and each episode is one hour, told in real time.
43) Castle: Richard Castle is a successful murder mystery writer who just killed off his main character. One of his fans starts running around, killing people as described in his books. Teaming up with the police, Castle helps analyze facts using his unique point of view and his many connections.

44) CSI, CSI:NY, CSI:Miami, and NCIS: What do you think? Of course! I grouped them all together because they’re all roughly based around the same concept: Crime Scene Investigation. Give it a shot!
45) Defying Gravity: 8 astronauts from 5 countries are living on a space ship, undertaking a mysterious six-year international space mission. Everything they do is monitored and they soon discover that their assignment was not what they thought.

46) Eleventh Hour: A government scientist and his counterpart try to save people from deadly scientific experiments.

47) Flashpoint: The Strategic Response Unit (SRU) arrives. This program is about the SRU teams and their struggles to rescue hostages, bust gangs, and defuse bombs. They take escalated situations and attempt to resolve them. Once their on scene, it’s over for the bad guys.
48) House: An antisocial and world-famous diagnostician does whatever it takes to solve puzzling cases, along with his team. Known for his wits and often times derogatory attitude toward his patients, he works to save lives.

49) Journeyman: A man travels back in time to save people in need. The show has been cancelled, but the episodes already out are worth taking a look at.

50) Kings: It’s a modern day sci-fi alternate reality about a hero who rises and becomes the king of his nation, based on the biblical story of King David.

51) Legend of the Seeker: After the murder of his father, a mysterious woman named Kahlan Amnell appears to Richard Cypher seeking help. It turns out that he is the legendary Seeker and must find the courage, power, and ancient power invested in him through his Sword of Truth, to rid the world of evil.

52) The Listener: A young paramedic learns that he has telepathic powers. Teaming up with a detective, Toby uses his telepathic powers to save people in need and solve crimes.
53) Merlin: The show about the legendary sorcerer as a young man, working to fulfill his destiny and protect the soon to be King Arthur.

54) The Outer Limits: A collection of shows that are thought-provoking. Great entertainment. “There is nothing wrong with your television. Do not attempt to adjust the picture.”
55) Rescue Me: Tommy Gavin deals with the fears of his job as a firefighter, seeing his ex-wife date other men, and tons of other things. His life is fairly dysfunctional and has been ever since 9/11. These are his “adventures” and struggles.

56) Warehouse 13: A pair of US Secret Service agents are whisked away to a covert location in South Dakota that house supernatural objects that the US Government has collected over centuries. They are now part of the team to gather these mystical objects.
