Do you remember me ever talking about Wakoopa? Well if you’ve never heard of it, give it a quick spin and see how you like it. Have a quick look at the applications that I use the most here, with Wakoopa’s embeddable widgets. I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed if you give a twirl. Let’s get on with the show then:

Wakoopa released it’s “State of Apps, Q1 2009” a while ago, but for those of you who don’t know what that is or want to take a quick peek at it again, here is the link. Just recently, they released “State of Apps, Q2 2009”, with the second quarter results. You can have a look at their pretty charts and everything here. It’s a great report. I highly recommend it. Here are some highlights which are condensed and can be found on Wakoopa’s blog:

- Twitter steadily grows: used by over 25% of the Wakoopa community and peaks around 9 PM.

- Facebook beat YouTuby by only 4%.

- Big newcomers on scene include The Sims 3, Hulu Desktop, and Seesmic Desktop. Tweetie was most popular for Mac.

- America’s Army 3 was a huge newcomer. ( I liked AA2, but I’ve never played the third installment).

- Use of software for development peaked in the morning and around 3 PM. Less productive at about 4 PM.

- Firefox was used by about 55% of Wakoopa users, with Google Chromium being the second most popular.

- Windows Live Messanger leads the windows IM scene, followed by Skype.

Awesome! Thanks so much to Wakoopa. You can find my Wakoopa profile here. Enjoy! Below are a couple of pictures from the Q2 2009 State of Apps Report.
