Amazon and Walmart to Follow iTunes

Remember that post where I told you about iTunes implementation of the points system? The prices on iTunes just went whack. In that post, I neglected to mention Walmart as an alternative to iTunes for mp3 downloads. I did suggest Amazon as an alternative, stating that the top downloads were still all 99 cents. Looks like I will now have to retract that statement. Here is a little update on the situation.

Walmart - Save Money. Live Better. Both Walmart and Amazon are doing the same thing. A song’s price will be based on popularity. Amazon will be offering their tracks starting from 79 cents and up to $1.29, which is the same as iTunes. Over at Walmart, the low will be 64 cents, with a high of $1.24. A little cheaper, but not the 99 cents that we once knew. That sucks. The question now becomes: where do I get my music. Out of these three popular venues for mp3 downloads, which one will I choose? Will I go for Walmart, since it’s cheaper. What say you?
