Music Playlist For March 30, 2009

Alright, music playlist time. I don’t have a whole bunch of music to add to my iTunes, but I’ll go over what I have added. Anyway, here we go. By the way, I’ve included a download link to the Norwegian Recycling song. It’s good stuff. Oh, and I’m not up at Davis, so I don’t have my speaker system, but I have one 10 times better here at home. Let’s go:

1) Knock You Down – Keri Hilson ft. Kanye West & Ne-Yo: Good stuff. Rocking to it right now, while I type this. Awesome beat and oh the music video is alright by my standards. The writhing on the bed is mediocre, but some of the graphics are pretty awesome. Song is beautiful, smooth, and blastable.

2) All I Ever Wanted – Kelly Clarkson: Another Kelly Clarkson song. I’m pretty sure I’ve added I Do Not Hook Up, which is from the same album. I added it last week, but this week I’m adding the whole album. It’s pretty upbeat and what can I say? Kelly Clarkson-y. I know my sister is a pretty big fan and I’m impartial, but I will blast select songs once in a while. “All I ever wanted, all I ever wanted. Was a simple way to get over you…Tell me with so many out there why I always turn to you?”

3) If Today Was Your Last Day – Nickelback: This is from their album “Dark Horse”. In the previous week, I already posted the song Gotta Be Somebody. I recommend you just go and check out the entire album because it’ll be worth your time. I’ve always been a big fan of Nickelback. If you’ve ever liked one of their songs, I guarantee you’ll find one you like in their new album. “Against the grain should be a way of life. What’s worth the price is always worth the fight. Every second counts ‘cause there’s no second try. So live like you’re never living twice.”

4) Love Vs Money – The Dream: It’s an alright song. If you listen to it too much and blast it a little too loud though, I can see how it can be a little annoying. It’s got to be that incessant background music, but other than that the message is clear and it’s an awesome song. The beat is danceable. Overall, just one of those nice to listen to R&B songs. “Anything she wanted, I bought it, broke my neck so this girl didn’t go without it.”

5) No Line On The Horizon – U2: U2! What can I say? It’s a pretty good song. I’ve listened to some of the other songs on the album and I think this one is one of the best. I’m blasting it and I’m liking it. If you’re not into U2, then move on, although I’m coming to the end of the post. “One day she’s still, the next she swells. You can hear the universe in her sea shells. Oh yeah.”

6) Scream – Chris Cornell ft. Timbaland: Not a lot of people are digging this song, but I definitely am. It must be the beat and the incredibly weirdass video. The video is inspiring and at the same time, the music only goes along with it. The beat is catchy and I like. That’s why it’s going on my shuffle playlist. Still, very weird video. “Girl, it doesn’t have to be a fight. Throwing out the blame when you know it ain’t my fault. Messing with my brain when you want to see me fall. There may come a time when I don’t bother you at all.”

7) Acoustic Alchemy (Green Day – Good Riddance vs. 7 other songs) – Norwegian Recycling: Alright, if you haven’t listened to Norwegian Recycling’s (Peter Bull) mixes, then you probably haven’t lived yet. No, I’m just kidding. Either way he does some amazing stuff and he definitely has an ear for that stuff. I don’t have too much to say about the track, but I’ll provide you with the samples and a download link for this song.
